The most important characteristic of the Buddha was his compassion. He felt so deeply for the suffering of mankind that he was never tired of preaching the way out of suffering. 16 May 2022 Nirvana is freedom from sorrow for all mankind and all sorrow comes from the basic illusion that we are the minds as separate entities. When one realizes that separate existence of the ego is itself an illusion, then one is free of all sorrow and has attained Nirvana which the Buddha talked about. (removed one from – one is free of all sorrow and ‘one’ has attained) 17 May 2022 A true Buddhist need not belong to a sect, need not wear different clothes. By looking inwards into his own self and discarding it layer by layer, can reach the essence of awareness or Prajnya which is also known as Nirvana or Moksha or complete freedom.
